LANGUAGE ARTS DEPARTMENT MISSION

The Language Arts teachers at Miami Lakes Middle School are committed to providing students with optimal instruction using the Sunshine State Standards. We believe that all students can learn and therefore provide a reading and writing foundation that promotes the development of lifelong learners. In each classroom we provide an environment that promotes learning, and our lessons are rich in multicultural experiences, which provide for individual growth and self-confidence. The language arts teachers work collaboratively to guarantee professional growth and consistently assess our students to ensure that they are grasping the covered benchmarks. Our lines of communication are open to parents to promote the well being of our students also. All of these things together will work in improving student achievement in reading and writing which will contribute to the students overall success and growth.
